My computer is slow. Can I do anything to make it faster? |
A. |
This is a very broad question. It depends on how old your computer is and whether any replacement parts are still available. If it is a Pentium 3 or older, parts are not available new. You may be able to find them secondhand, but we have limited secondhand parts. |

Can I install Windows XP on my computer that currently has Windows 95 or 98? |
A. |
We do not recommend doing this, but again it depends on your current hardware specifications. Windows XP has minimum requirements that you computer must meet. Even at the minimum or recommended level, performance may be greatly diminished. Also you need to allow hard disk space and RAM for the other software you intend to install. |

My Computer has become slow over time. Can anything be done to speed it back up? |
A. |
As files and programs are added, the registry and hard drives also fill up and can slow performance. Also spyware, adware, and malware can get on your system without specific tools to prevent them. In both cases, the system can be repaired and put back to the same speed your system was when you first got it. We can remove most spyware without reformatting the hard drive. However, nothing optimizes system performance better than reformatting your hard drive. UCC will backup all of your data, format, and reinstall your data and any programs that you have discs for. |
